Call for application
Exposition

Le 19, Crac launches its new call for applications for LA BOX DU 19, a program that supports emerging contemporary creation by inviting an artist to produce a new, original work to be exhibited in the “box” space of Le 19 from December 5, 2025, to January 4, 2026. This work will be part of the “Christmas Lights” event organized by the City of Montbéliard.

For over 30 years, the Christmas lights and market have contributed to the City of Montbéliard’s renown. Le 19, Crac, located at the entrance of Montbéliard’s historic center, aims to update and reframe this tradition by offering a contemporary version of the festivities. That’s why it invites artists to invest its Box space with a piece that echoes the festive atmosphere of this time of year.

Artists submitting a proposal are encouraged to consider this context in their work: the winter season, light, the winter solstice, local Christmas tales and legends (including Tante Airie, the female counterpart to Saint Nicholas and Santa Claus in the region), etc. These are all themes from which you are invited to draw inspiration.

La Box du 19 is a 12m² display space, highly visible and overlooking the forecourt of the art center. Proposals may include existing works the artist wishes to update, or entirely new creations that take into account the specific features of this unique space (visibility from the street, various technical constraints).

The selected artist may work on-site and will receive technical and logistical support from the team at Le 19.

The exhibition is part of Le 19’s regular programming, and will receive dedicated promotion and communication (press, social media, etc.).
The opening of the Box exhibition will be followed by the show “Novices, mutable trajectories” by the company Kif Dance, as part of the collective exhibition “Zones of (non)being” at Le 19, Crac.
