School visits

For all age groups, the 19 offers guided visits adapted to the level of the students and the projects carried out in class. The purpose of these visits is to involve pupils and students in a sharing relationship with the mediator and to allow everyone to experience the works while questioning their status as spectators.
The terms and duration of the visit can be defined between the professor and the 19 team in advance depending on the projects. An educational file is available at each exhibition to prepare for your visit (Resources tab, below).

"Petits médiateurs" project

Organized over the duration of an exhibition, this system allows pupils to discover the functioning of an art center and the design of an exhibition, from its assembly to its opening to the public. The objective is to make pupils active participants in their learning by themselves becoming mediators and transmitters of knowledge. This project also allows, in close collaboration with the teacher, to develop the pupils’ oral expression, self-image and integration into a group.

At the end of this working time, the pupils-mediators lead a visit for a class in their school.

"Ma classe au 19" project

“My class at 19” project allows primary school pupils to immerse themselves for a week in the daily life of a contemporary art center by moving the class to the center of the exhibition spaces at 19, Crac. During this project, contemporary art becomes the support for multidisciplinary learning.

The mornings are dedicated to traditional school times (mathematics, geography, French), supported by the works from the 19 exhibition ; the afternoons are dedicated to plastic practice workshops, led by members of the 19, Crac team and co-constructed with teachers.

Extracurricular

During their art center’s visit, children discover the works through tales, games and challenges in the exhibition rooms.
For older children, the visit is followed by a visual arts workshop linked to the exhibition.
